Swim Fast or Get Out

Another swim team season has come and gone and with it came a lot of fun, some new friends, some really great exercise, a few more ribbons, and improved and faster strokes. Finn loves to swim and be on the swim team. The coaches do a really good job with so many kids. Atticus was not able to do swim team this year but after a summer of lessons he is definitely ready for next year.

Our good friends, the Smith's, were visiting us during one of Finn's meets. You know you are good friends with someone when they will sit through a 5 hour swim meet in 105 degree + weather. Thanks again you guys. It was so fun to have you here.

All-Star Week

At the end of the season the coach selects the three fastest swimmers for every stroke in each age group to be on the All Star team. They practice every night for 2-3 hours and then have a meet on Saturday. It is a really great week of practice and I saw the most improvement in Finn during this week.

Atticus wanted to come every night with me to watch Finn practice. He is a good kid to just patiently sit and watch his brother swim. I enjoyed having a little one on one time with him.

Each year on the last day of practice the kids swim in their clothes for the entire time. The coach asks them to wear jeans and a long sleeve shirt. Here is a group shot before practice began.

The Day of the Meet

Finn swam really well and ended up with getting 3rd in Butterfly, 3rd in Backstroke, and 2nd in Breaststroke. Way to go Finn, we are all so proud of you!

Finn proudly presenting his hard earned and well deserved ribbons. The kids all worked really hard and it paid off. The Summerlin Seals won the championship for the 6th year in a row!
